Senior GL Accountant with Italian

The main responsibility of a Senior GL Accountant is to oversee and manage an organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards and timely reporting. They maintain the general ledger, record financial transactions and prepare crucial financial statements, providing essential insights for decision-making and financial analysis within the company.

What will be your daily tasks?

  • Preparing month-end accruals journals and schedules.
  • Assisting with the production of detailed P&Ls, flash pack, and additional analysis from the commercial team.
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Creating intercompany recharges.
  • Performing thorough Intercompany reconciliations and confirmations.
  • Uploading and reconciling all daily Bank and Cash files.
  • Assisting with month-end Internal Audit files.
  • Posting Treasury Accounting journals
  • Assisting with the collation of the annual budget and Profit Forecast.
  • Preparing comprehensive finance budget schedules, including detailed P&Ls and profit analysis.
  • Collating Revenue and Royalty information from various Asahi markets.
  • Posting accruals and raising invoices related to royalties.
  • Agreeing intercompany royalty balances.
  • Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts under HK GAAP.
  • Assisting with year-end audit queries and providing necessary documentation.
  • Assisting with year-end tax computation and return preparation.
  • Handling ad hoc projects and special assignments.
  • Actively participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of GL operations.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to GL service level agreements (time, process, and quality).

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Finance accounting
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)/equivalent local professional qualification is desirable
  • 5 years of experience of finance accounting experience is mandatory
  • 5 years of experience in working in a finance shared service
  • Experience in change and transformation projects, including process reengineering, technology implementations, and cultural change initiatives
  • English and Italian on professional level
  • Advanced IT/excel skills, prior SAP/HFM or equivalent is an advantage
